Early Intervention / Local Interagency Council

The Early Intervention program in Illinois is a collection of services for infants and toddlers and their families who have delays in development or who are at risk of developmental delays.  The Early Intervention program supports and teaches families how to play with their children in ways that will help them learn essential skills.

Family Planning

The Greene County Family Planning Program is a service of the Illinois Valley Economic Development Corporation.  They offer counseling and education as well as medical services including breast and pelvic exams, Pap smears, pregnancy testing, STD treatment, and contraceptive supplies.  Their office is located in the basement of the Greene County Courthouse, 519 North Main Street, Carrollton, Illinois.  Office hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on Thursday and Friday (by appointment only).  Telephone: 217-942-5512.

The Illinois Department of Human Services, Department of Human Capital Development provides access to cash assistance, Food Stamps, and medical programs.

Child and Adolescent Local Area Network #13

A Child and Adolescent Local Area Network (LAN) is the cooperative involvement of parents, concerned citizens, social services agencies, churches, and other community agencies and programs to help children and their families.  The main purpose of LAN is to prevent children from being removed from their homes, schools, and communities.

West Central Child Care Connection

West Central Child Care Connection provides information about child care options, provides referrals to child care, education and training programs, and financial assistance for child care.  A parent or family may be eligible for child care assistance if:

bulletYou have a child (or children) under the age of 13.
bulletYour family meets the income guidelines.
bulletYou (and your spouse) are working OR
bulletYou (and your spouse) are attending a Department of Human Services approved training or education program.
