Greene County Health Department provides vaccine information to citizens about travel to other countries. The information for required and recommended vaccines is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is based on destination, length of stay, and time of year. The nurses can provide additional information about the vaccines, i.e., how long it takes for the vaccine to become effective, the risks and benefits of the vaccine. Some of the required vaccinations are offered at Greene County Health Department. The nurses refer clients to other clinics for vaccinations not offered at Greene County Health Department. Other useful information about the destination, such as safety concerns and climate, is also provided.
